Luke and I met the summer before our junior year of college at the Connecticut Fire Academy where we became certified interior firefighters after many years with our local town departments. After many ice cream dates and wake boarding trips we decided to make long distance work through college, then moved across the country to Arizona together to start our careers.

Now in Virginia, we admittedly enjoy our time together the most when we’re hiking, hunting, and playing with our Labrador, Sophie. Luke proposed at my family’s home in Weekapaug, RI with my family and our dog present to celebrate our excitement together. I love that Luke can make me laugh no matter my mood and our similar devotion to our families and the outdoors.

When we were planning our wedding back in Connecticut, we wanted to make our special day feel like it involved all of the things we hold closest to our hearts, namely home. Our venue, caterer, florist and of course photographer were all friends or family that we felt tied to as we became immersed in planning this special event.
