Inside an Elegant Glen Manor House Wedding | Venue Guide & Real Wedding Photos

Weddings

If you’re venue searching for a Newport, RI wedding and you haven’t looked at Glen Manor House yet… stop what you’re doing. Seriously. Today I’m taking you inside one of my absolute favorite venues in Rhode Island through Brooke and Ricky’s stunning wedding day — gorgeous Glen Manor House wedding photos, a full venue breakdown, and even a peek at pricing.

The Venue: Glen Manor House, Portsmouth, RI

Nestled just outside Newport in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Glen Manor House is the kind of estate that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. We’re talking a grand stone mansion with historic architectural details throughout… intricate archways, sweeping hallways, marble fireplaces, chandeliers, and a red-carpeted staircase that was practically made for dramatic entrances. Every corner of this property has something beautiful to look at, which, as a photographer, makes my job feel less like work and more like a dream.

But it’s not just the interiors. The grounds are equally stunning — manicured gardens, lush greenery, and a waterfront dock that is absolutely perfect for a private first look with the water as your backdrop. For couples who want that Newport, RI waterfront feel without sacrificing elegance and intimacy, Glen Manor House really does have it all.

And the food here is also top-notch. Glen Manor House works exclusively with Russell Morin Catering & Events for all food and beverage, and it shows. This is the kind of catering that guests actually talk about long after the night is over. It’s a full experience from start to finish.

Why Glen Manor House Photographs So Beautifully

I genuinely cannot pick a single favorite thing about this venue because everything is stunning. The golden light that filters through the gardens during portraits. The stone mansion as a backdrop — so architectural, timeless. The waterfront dock at blue hour. The epic staircase. The reception space, with all that warm candlelight and draped fabric overhead…it offers incredible variety throughout the entire day without ever leaving the property.

Glen Manor House Wedding Cost

I know pricing is one of the first things couples want to know, so let’s talk about it. Glen Manor House accommodates up to 175 guests and is available mid-May through mid-October for peak season events, with off-season availability from November through April as well.

Pricing depends on the season and the day of the week you’re getting married. During peak season, pricing starts at $5,000 on weekdays, while weekend pricing is higher: Friday: $10,000 | Saturday: $13,000 | Sunday: $7,500.

During the off-season, weekday pricing starts at $3,000; on weekends, it is as follows: Friday: $5,000 | Saturday: $6,500 | Sunday: $3,750.

There’s an additional $1,500 ceremony fee if you’re exchanging vows on-site — which, if you’ve seen the grounds… You absolutely should. These site fees are separate from catering, so be sure to factor in your Russell Morin food and beverage budget as well when you’re planning.

Brooke and Ricky’s Glen Manor House Wedding Photos

For their wedding day, Brooke and Ricky wanted an editorial vibe, over stiff and posed. She cared about capturing the beauty of the Glen —the real moments—the laughter, the dancing, the food. She wasn’t worried about the typical “getting ready” detail shots (shoes, perfume bottles, the dress on a hanger) and instead wanted her gallery to feel alive and full of personality. She was open to a mix of documentary and editorial, color and black-and-white, and she wanted lots of photos with her sister throughout the night.

…I mean. Could she have made it any easier to deliver exactly what she wanted? This is the kind of communication that results in a gallery you’ll actually love — and Brooke and Ricky’s Glen Manor House wedding photos are among my favorites I’ve ever taken!

The Wedding Day

The day had everything I love to capture — and then some. We started with a private first look at the waterfront dock.

The ceremony took place on the estate’s lawn as the most gorgeous rays of late afternoon light broke through the trees — I’m not exaggerating when I say it looked like something out of a film. Brooke, in her sleek, modern gown with long gloves and a flowing veil, bridesmaids in sharp black dresses, groomsmen in classic black tie… the whole aesthetic was so cohesive and editorial without feeling overdone.

For portraits, we made the most of every corner of the property — the stone arcade with its intricate lattice archways, the sweeping lawn with the manor house behind them, the waterfront with that perfect open sky. Brooke and Ricky were so natural together, genuinely laughing, genuinely them… and that energy is exactly what makes a gallery feel real rather than posed and rehearsed.

The reception was equally stunning. Long tables draped in white with lush floral runners, gold chiavari chairs, and white fabric billowing overhead under string lights… it was romantic and elegant and so, so beautiful. And true to Brooke’s brief, the dance floor was alive. Guests let loose completely, and the couple right in the middle of it all was just pure joy to photograph.

This gallery has a little bit of everything I love — documentary moments, editorial portraits, direct flash at the reception, motion blur on the dance floor, black-and-white mixed with color… It’s the kind of wedding that reminds me why I do this.
